Answer:

x = 2.25 y = 0.75

Step-by-step explanation:

2x = 9.5- 5

2x = 4.5

x = 4.5 ÷ 2

x = 2.25

know we now what is x so in the second one we evaluate x

3(2.25) + 5y = 10.5

6.75 + 5y = 10.5

5y = 10.5- 6.75

5y = 3.75

y = 3.75 ÷ 5

y = 0.75

that's it !

if you want to check your answer you can evaluate x and y so it will be like

2×2.25 + 5

= 4.5 + 5 = 9.5

and

3× 2.25 +5×0.75

= 6.75 + 3.75 = 10.5
