for points (x₁,y₁) and (x₂,y₂)
slope=[tex] \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} [/tex]

(x,y)
(7,9)
(10,6)

x₁=7
y₁=9
x₂=10
y₂=6

slope=[tex] \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} [/tex]
slope=[tex] \frac{6-9}{10-7} [/tex]
slope=[tex] \frac{-3}{3} [/tex]
slope=-1
