You have to figure out what 8% of 5.1 is.  8% has to be written as .08, the word "of" means to multiply, and the word "is" means equals.  So "what is 8% of 5.1" can be written in equation form like this: x = .08(5.1).  This will tell you how much she grew; add it to the 5.1 she was originally and you'll find out how tall she is now.  x = .408   Add that to 5.1 to see that she is 5.508 feet tall now.
