A voltage source in a circuit provides electrical ENERGY.

In fact, a voltage source is a device (like a battery) that creates a potential difference between two points of the circuit. This potential difference allows charge carriers to move from one side of the device to the other side, flowing through the circuit, producing a current, and current is a form of electrical energy.
